Director for American Constitutional Rights Union since 2019, a national organization dedicated to monitoring and countering threats to our constitutional government.
Prior to her political career, Val had served for seven years as a Bible Study Fellowship Discussion Leader. She was also the Washington State Director of Concerned Women for America (CWA) for five years and served as a member of the National Board before leaving to seek public office. While with CWA, she participated in a short-term mission trip to Costa Rica, along with CWA President and founder, Dr Beverly LaHaye, and a team of Board Members. They worked together with the local missionaries distributing donated clothing to Nicaraguans who had fled their homeland to escape the Sandinistas. A visit to the remote school, created by Concerned Women for America (CWA) to teach the children of the Nicaraguans living in the jungle, was another purpose for the trip.
She and her husband Keith were married in 1959, attend Atonement Free Lutheran Church in Arlington, Washington, and have two grown sons, six grandchildren, and four great-grand children.

Senator Val Stevens began her legislative career in 1992 when she was elected to represent the 39th Legislative District in the State of Washington. After serving four years in the Washington House of Representatives, she was elected to the Senate where she then served for 16 years. As the Senate leader, Stevens dedicated her career to issues that strengthen families and protect children.
She served for four years as the state chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council, a national organization of legislators, dedicated to Jeffersonian principles. From 2004-2010 she served as a Director of their National Board of Directors.
