Doug and Amy individually grew to have a heart for missions since early-on in their Christian walk. They were introduced long-distance in 2005 (Doug from North Augusta, SC, and Amy, Racine, WI) and were married in 2006. They originally planned to serve the Lord using mission aviation in Papua, Indonesia, with World Team. After the flight program closed there in 2008, they saw the Lord redirect them to church planting in Spain with the same agency.
Arriving home from Spain in May of 2015, Doug and Amy clearly saw the door open back up to return to using aviation to serve in Kingdom advancement. The Nunziatos arrived at MATA in June of 2016. Doug and Amy are parents of Analise and Nate.
Doug serves in various roles at MATA and also possesses a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating and is an Advanced Ground Instructor. Amy cares for her family on the home-front and she also serves as a part-time teacher at her kid’s school, Evangel Classical School in Marysville, WA. At MATA, the Nunziatos are serving to prepare future missionary pilots technically and spiritually to serve overseas.
