Abigail McMillan grew up locally in Marysville, Washington. The Lord put on her heart at a young age the desire to serve through missions work, although she was not sure at the time what that would look like. When her mom convinced her to try out MATA’s summer aviation camp, she fell in love with flying and brought it before the Lord in prayer. As she continued through high school, it became clear that the Lord was leading her into the field of aviation.

During her last year of high school, Abigail had the privilege to go on a short term mission trip to Brazil as a nanny for one of the missionary families working there. It was a valuable experience for her that taught many important lessons about the Lord, deepened her passions for missions, and gave her a picture of what family life looks like on the field.

Abigail attended Ethnos360 Bible Institute to become equipped with an Associates in Bible, and for the college’s focus on missions. Shortly after, she returned home to join with MATA as an apprentice A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) mechanic. Abigail hopes to continue learning about the mission field, and grow in her walk with the Lord as she trains with the staff at MATA.
